SCENE ONE: JACK AND KAYLA ARE BACK AT THE LOFT. JACK LEAPS ONTO THE SOFA AND RELAXES.
JACK: I think that went pretty well don't you?

KAYLA: I did everything you wanted Jack.

JACK: Hmmm. I feel a favor coming on.

KAYLA: Look you keep hinting that you know where Steve is.

JACK: Maybe I do and maybe I don't.

KAYLA: If you've got him somewhere, please let me see him.

JACK: Kayla, Sweetheart! Can I have a cup of coffee?

KAYLA: Jack! Look, I just want to see him for a while, please? It'll make me feel better.

JACK: (Indecisive at first.)....No, I can't.

KAYLA: Why not? What in the world difference does it make to you?

JACK: Because maybe I don't feel like granting any favors right now. But that is unless you're ready to reciprocate....

KAYLA: You disgust me.

JACK: Suit yourself.

KAYLA: Get your feet off my couch!

KAYLA GRABS HER COAT AND OPENS THE DOOR. THE BODYGUARD IS THERE SO SHE GOES UP TO THE ROOF.

JACK: Suit yourself.

THE PHONE RINGS.

JACK: Hello.

MELISSA: Jack it's me.

JACK: What are you doing calling me?

MELISSA: Listen I have to see you. Tonight. It's important.

JACK: Look.... er.... couldn't you just tell me over the phone?

MELISSA: No, look I have to see you.

JACK: I just can't pick up and go....

MELISSA: Jack please? It's very important. You can believe me.

JACK: Well alright, we'll get together first thing in the morning. We'll talk and....

MELISSA: No, no, this can't wait until morning. I have to see you tonight.

JACK: Well could you tell me what's so urgent?

MELISSA: Look I'm at the pier. I'll wait for you.

JACK: Well just give me an idea.

MELISSA: Jack I swear to you this is very important. I can't talk to you about it over the phone.

JACK: Alright, alright. I'll get over there as soon as I can.

MELISSA: Thank you.

JACK: Goodbye

MELISSA: Goodbye.
SCENE TWO: MELISSA TAKES THE ADOPTION PAPERS OUT OF HER BAG AND LOOKS AT THEM.
MELISSA: I hope I'm doing the right thing.
SCENE THREE: KAYLA GOES UP TO THE ROOF WHERE STEVE IS WAITING FOR HER. SHE IS SURPRISED AND RUNS TO HIS ARMS. THEY ARE KISSING AS JACK COMES UP ON THE ROOF.
JACK: Kayla, I have to go out for a little while....
JACK SEES STEVE AND KAYLA KISSING. JACK AND STEVE GLARE AT EACH OTHER.

STEVE: Go inside Kayla.
SCENE FOUR: JACK HAS JUST CAUGHT KAYLA AND STEVE, ON THE ROOF OF THE LOFT, KISSING.

KAYLA: Steve....

STEVE: Kayla I want you to go inside now. Go on.
JACK GRABS KAYLA.
JACK: If he doesn't want you then I do. Come with me! Stay.

STEVE: You've got to go inside now Kayla. You let her go!

JACK: No, no. My wife doesn't take orders from anyone but me, HER HUSBAND.

KAYLA: Jack....

STEVE: YOU'RE NOT HER HUSBAND. YOU'RE A FILTHY PIG. YOU RAPED HER.

JACK: I DIDN'T RAPE ANYBODY. I MADE LOVE TO HER AND IT WAS WONDERFUL. I LOVED IT AND I ONLY WISH WE'D DONE IT SOONER.

KAYLA: STEVE!

STEVE: Go inside Kayla, come on.

STEVE DRAGS KAYLA AWAY FROM JACK AND WALKS TOWARDS HIM READY TO PUNCH.

KAYLA: STEVE, DON'T. STEVE.

STEVE PUNCHES JACK ON THE JAW AND THEY BEGIN TO FIGHT.

KAYLA: STEVE, DON'T STEVE.

JACK: GREETINGS FROM ONE PIG TO ANOTHER.

THEY CONTINUE TO FIGHT ALONG THE ROOFTOP AND THEN DOWN THE FIRE ESCAPE WHILE KAYLA TRIES TO STOP THEM.

STEVE: GO BACK IN THE HOUSE KAYLA!
KAYLA CONTINUES TO SHOUT AT BOTH OF THEM TO STOP BUT THEY CONTINUE TO FIGHT. STEVE PUNCHES JACK ON THE LANDING AND HE FALLS THROUGH THE RAIL AND DOWN ONE STOREY TO THE GROUND.

SCENE FIVE: JACK IS LYING ON THE PAVEMENT, UNCONSCIOUS. STEVE COMES DOWN AND LISTENS TO HIS CHEST.

STEVE: Oh Jack, Jack, we're going to get you some help. Kayla's getting an ambulance. JACK! CAN YOU HEAR ME? JACK! Hey you're going to be alright. JACK CAN YOU HEAR ME? JACK!

KAYLA: Steve.

STEVE: Kayla he can't die. HE CAN'T DIE.

KAYLA: Is he alive?

STEVE: Look at him.

KAYLA: We're not going to let him die Steve. Hold on. (She runs to the ambulance.)
