from Kayla, but She Is also Captured.

SCENE ONE: ON THE PIE, ROMAN MEETS SECRETLY WITH ABE CARVER, WHO TELLS HER THAT MARINA HAS A SISTER. IT SEEMS [THOUGH I DO NOT HAVE THE SCENES] THAT WHATEVER REASON FOR ROMAN BEING OFF THE FORCE IS TIED INTO MARINA AND VICTOR.

SCENE TWO: JACK HAS CALLED STEVE, ONLY FOR KAYLA TO ANSWER, HE TELLS HER TO COME TO BAYVIEW BUT BEFORE HE COULD SAY MORE THE ATTENDANT RETURNED AND HE HAD TO RUN. KAYLA IS STILL ON THE LINE, WONDERING WHAT HAPPENED TO STEVE.

KAYLA: Jack, Jack.

SHE HANGS UP.

KAYLA: Maybe he is trying to help us.

KAYLA WRITES A NOTE TO STEVE TELLING HIM WHERE SHE IS GOING. SHE LEAVES IT ON THE TABLE AND OPENS THE DOOR TO LEAVE AND HELP JACK. AS THE DOOR OPENS THE WIND BLOWS THE NOTE ONTO THE FLOOR.

SCENE THREE: MEANWHILE JACK AND ISABELLA ARE OUTSIDE.

JACK: I don't see anybody.

ISABELLA: They can probably see us.

JACK: Well, that's one reason we're not going out the front gate. No, we're going to go.... er.... we're going to go under that fence and through those woods.

ISABELLA: And the guards will catch us.

THEY HEAR THE GUARDS COMING.

JACK: Look, I want you to go ahead and I'll try to hold off the Beastie Boys.

ISABELLA: No I can't.

JACK: Look, there's a sign out there. It says Salem 5 Miles. You stay right by that sign and I'll meet you there.

ISABELLA: I don't want to leave you Jack.

JACK: I'm telling you, GO! Quickly, just go. I'll be there. Promise. Just go.

ISABELLA RUNS AWAY.

JACK: I have to er....

JACK DOES A KARATI POSE,

JACK: Eeeeee... yaaaa (deciding against confronting the attendants).

HE DECIDES TO HIDE INSTEAD, AND PRESSES HIMSELF AGAINST A WALL.

SCENE FOUR: A SHORT TIME LATER, JACK GETS OUT AND IS WAITING BY THE SIGN FOR ISABELLA TO TURN UP. IT IS ALMOST WINTER AND JACK IS FREEZING.

JACK: Come on Isabella. Come on, where are you?

A CAR PULLS UP AND IT IS KAYLA.

JACK: Kayla, Kayla, where's Steve?

KAYLA: I couldn't find him. What's going on? Come on, get in.

JACK: I can't. I.... I'm waiting for somebody.

KAYLA: You've got to be kidding.

JACK: I wish I was.

KAYLA: Jack, whoever it is, obviously isn't coming. So come on.

JACK: No, I think she's going to make it.

KAYLA: She?

JACK: Yeah.

KAYLA: I don't like this. Come on, get in.

JACK: Okay.

ALONG COMES THE ATTENDANT.

ATTENDANT1: Don't even think about it. (Putting a gun to Jack's head) Put your hands on top of the car.

JACK: Oh, no.

ATTENDANT1: Where do you think you were going?

JACK SIGHS AND LOOKS THOROUGHLY DEPRESSED. KAYLA IS FRIGHTENED.

[Air date late December 1989]

SCENE ONE: STEVE HAS COME HOME AND FOUND KAYLA MISSING.

JENNIFER ARRIVES SOON AFTER AFTER AND SAYS THAT SHE CAME TO TALK TO KAYLA AND IF SHE IS NOT THERE SHE WILL GO. AS SHE IS LEAVING SHE NOTICES THE NOTE KAYLA LEFT AND PICKS IT UP OFF THE FLOOR.

SCENE TWO: BACK OUTSIDE BAYVIEW, KAYLA HAS DRIVEN TO HELP JACK, AS SHE AND JACK ARE TALKING THE ATTENDANT HAS PULLED A GUN ON JACK.

As Jack meets up with Kayla, the attendant pulls a gun on Jack;
50 sec; 2 Meg.

ATTENDANT1: Get away from the door.

JACK: I didn't know it was standard practice to order a--

ATTENDANT1: SHUT UP!

KAYLA: Would somebody please tell me what's going on here?

JACK: (Bending down to talk to Kayla through the open car door) I'll tell you what's going on. I was just trying to take a walk around the sanitarium when--

ATTENDANT1: SHUT UP! You escaped and I'm going to take you back.

KAYLA: Escaped?

ATTENDANT1: Yes, and since you're trying to help him, I'm going to take you with him. Put your hands on the roof across from your boyfriend here.

ISABELLA SHOWS UP AND IS HIDING IN THE WATCHING.

JACK: I've never seen this lady before in my life.

ATTENDANT1: Right.

JACK: Really. I was just on the side of the road and she picked me up. She was just trying to....

KAYLA: That's right. I was just being nice. It's cold out here.

JACK: Yes. You remember nice. I mean.... We've never seen each other.

JACK TURNS AROUND AND SEES ISABELLA HIDING IN THE BUSHES.

ATTENDANT1: Where's the other woman?

KAYLA: I have no idea what you're talking about.

JACK SIGNALS ISABELLA TO HIDE AND SHE DOES.

WHILE THE GUY IS TRYING TO TIE UP KAYLA, JACK JUMPS IN THE PASSENGER SIDE OF THE CAR.

JACK: Hey, move, Kayla run. Get back in the car.

SHE TRIES TO BUT THE GUARD GRABS HER.

ATTENDANT1: You, out! You remember the game? Hands on the roof. Close the door.

JACK GETS OUT AND PUTS HIS HAND ON THE ROOF. HE LOOKS AT THE GUY LIKE HE IS REALLY DUMB BUT DOES AS HE IS TOLD. HE AND KAYLA BOTH LOOK FRUSTRATED.

SCENE THREE: MEANWHILE STEVE IS ANNOYED WHEN HE READS THE NOTE. HE TELLS JENNIFER THAT KAYLA SAYS SHE WENT TO HELP JACK. JENNIFER TELLS STEVE THAT JACK IS IN BIG TROUBLE AND THAT HE HAS BEEN SNEAKING OFF TO SEE ISABELLA TOSCANO AT BAYVIEW. SHE SAYS SHE IS VERY WORRIED ABOUT JACK. HE SAYS THAT JACK SHOULD BUTT OUT AND MIND HIS OWN BUSINESS. HE ASKS FOR JENNIFER'S CAR KEYS TO GO TO THE SANITARIUM. SHE GIVES THEM TOO HIM; HE REFUSES TO LET HER GO WITH HIM.

SCENE FOUR: ON THE PIER, JENNIFER RUNS INTO EMILIO AND CONGRATULATES HIM, HER COUSIN SCOTT BANNING (JULIE'S GRANDSON) IS GOING TO HELP HIM WITH HIS MUSIC CAREER. HE THEN ASKS HER OUT TO CELEBRATE, BURGERS AND POOL AT THE CHEATIN' HEART. UNENTHUSIASTICALLY, "TONIGHT?" SHE REPLIES. SHE SAYS SHE HAS NO PROBLEM WITH IT. BUT HE WONDERS WHY SHE IS FROWNING, HE TELLS HER THAT HAPPENS WHEN SHE IS WORRIED. SHE AGREES. EMILIO RUNS HOME TO CHANGE LEAVING HER. THOUGH IT IS OBVIOUS BY HER EXPRESSION THAT SHE IS WORRYING ABOUT JACK.

SCENE FIVE: JACK AND KAYLA ARE BROUGHT BACK TO BAYVIEW AND PUSHED INTO A ROOM.

Jack and Kayla are captured;
1:35 Min; 3.5 Meg.

JACK: Oh, wait! Okay, okay, alright.

THE GUY POINTS A GUN AT THEM AND THEN LOCKS THEM IN.

JACK: Look I didn't mean to drag you into this mess, especially now.

KAYLA: I know.

JACK: So what happened to Steve? I thought he was going to come.

KAYLA: Well he wasn't home and you sounded so frantic on the phone.

JACK: So you showed up instead? (Smiling) Who would have guessed that?

KAYLA: Why don't you just tell me what's going on Jack?

JACK: Well, it's kind of a long story.

KAYLA: Well, it looks like we're going to have a long time.

JACK: Alright. That girl that I was looking for. I helped her escape from here. Her name is Isabella.

KAYLA: Isabella Toscano? Marina's sister.

JACK: How did you know that?

KAYLA: Well, Steve told me about her but I don't understand what she has to do with you.

JACK: Well, I could ask you the same thing. I was trying to figure out what she had to do with you. That's what I.... I figured if I could find that out, I could help you. Now this sounds crazy but I.... I really was trying to help you.

KAYLA: Help us how?

SCENE FIVE: THE DOOR OPENS, THE ATTENDANT ENTERS.

ATTENDANT1: Party's over.

JACK: What do you mean.... what do you mean the party's over?

ATTENDANT1: (To Kayla) Come on.

KAYLA: What?

JACK: Where are you taking her? You can't be dragging her around. She's a pregnant woman!

KAYLA: What? Where are you going?

JACK: What do you think.... you can't be dragging her....

SUDDENLY STEVE WALKS IN, HOLDING UP A POLICE BADGE.

STEVE: Let her go. Commander Brady, Salem PD. Turn around.

HE GIVES THE GUY A QUICK SEARCH.

STEVE: Okay, I'm taking these two in. I had a call on them. I've had a lot of complaints about Bayview. Patient complaints, health violations....

JACK: Bribery!

ATTENDANT1: Alright.

STEVE: Let's go. Both of you, come on!

JACK: Thanks.

SCENE SIX: JACK AND KAYLA LEAVE WITH STEVE. THEY HEAD FOR THE CAR.

STEVE: Are you sure you're alright baby?

KAYLA: Yeah I'm sure. I'm just glad to get out of there. Come on Jack.

JACK: I.... I can't.

STEVE: What are you talking about?

JACK: I have to keep looking for Isabella. Look, I said I'd help her. I promised. If you could lend me your car, maybe the two of you could ride back together.

STEVE: Baby, give him the keys. Come on, we've got to get you out of the cold.

KAYLA: Good luck Jack.

STEVE: Come on baby.

THEY WALK AWAY.

JACK: Thanks. I think I'm going to need it.

JACK IS WORRIED, WONDERING WHAT HAPPENED TO ISABELLA.
