Cabin, They Have an Impromptu Picnic
Which Evolves into Something More.

[Air date 6-21-90]

SCENE ONE: MEANWHILE ERNESTO HAS REVEALED HIMSELF TO ISABELLA AND MADE HER PROMISE THAT SHE NOT TELL ANYBODY YET.

SCENE TWO: IT IS THE NEXT DAY AND JACK AND JENNIFER ARE STILL IN THE CABIN. JACK IS WEARING LINEN PANTS AND A DARK BLUE SHIRT WITH NO TIE. JACK IS LYING ON THE BED DAYDREAMING WHEN HE HEARS JENNIFER COMING OUT OF THE BATHROOM. JENNIFER IS WEARING A PALE PINK PANTS SUIT. HE JUMPS UP AND SITS AT THE COMPUTER, PRETENDING THAT HE HAS BEEN WORKING ALL THE TIME. JENNIFER GRABS A STOOL AND SITS DOWN RIGHT NEXT TO HIM.

JENNIFER: Hi Jack.

JACK: What did we say? Fifteen feet, you know the rules.

JENNIFER: You're the one who wanted rules Jack.

JACK: You're the one who agreed to them. We said we both have a lot of work to do and we're both cooped up in this space, we'd have rules. What did we say?

JENNIFER: It's my laptop Jack.

JACK: What did we say?

JENNIFER: During working hours we are to stay at least fifteen feet away from each other to ensure uninterrupted concentration. But....

JACK: And....

JENNIFER: And we agree to use the computer in shifts, two hours at a time.

JACK: (Mentally counting out the time left.) Which leaves me thirty five....five, six.....about thirty seven minutes until you take over. And it also makes breathing down my neck an indefensible action under any circumstances, short of the ship going down. End of discussion. (Whispering to himself) Even if I did enjoy it.

JENNIFER: (Excited) You did?

JACK: (Not wanting to admit the truth.) No! Absolute end of discussion.

JENNIFER GETS UP AND LIES ON THE BED.

JENNIFER: Maybe we made a mistake Jack.

JACK: No what we made was an agreement. This is the only that way we can survive in a cooped up space until we hit dry land. Otherwise we're going to have to answer more questions from Victor and Roman, remember.

JENNIFER: I remember.

JACK: So this is how we avoid the Spanish Inquisition. We stay right where we are, separate but together.

JENNIFER: (Talking to herself) Right, trade me one torture for another Jack.

JACK: Excuse me.

JENNIFER: Nothing, nothing. Just keep on working, pretend like I'm not even here.

JACK: (To himself) Pretend, right!

JENNIFER: Excuse me.

JACK: Ah, nothing, nothing, nothing. Agreement!

JENNIFER: Agreement!

JENNIFER STARTS TO PACE AND SUDDENLY GETS A THOUGHT AND RUSHES TO JACK'S SIDE.

JENNIFER: JACK!

JACK: Wh...whe....WHAT! Hi!

JENNIFER: Tonight!

JACK: It is? Tonight? It is? It....

JENNIFER: Yes.

JACK: What is it?

JENNIFER: It's Isabella's dinner. Eight o'clock remember. We're supposed to sit at Isabella's table.

JACK: So we miss dinner.

JENNIFER: Oh great, then Roman will come looking for us and ask even more questions than before, right.

JACK: So we don't miss dinner.

JENNIFER: Oh sure, then Victor and Roman will sit themselves on either side of us and bombard us with questions. Sooner or later they are going to find out about these pages, Jack.

JACK CLAMPS HIS HAND OVER HER MOUTH.

JACK: No they're not, as long as we keep out mouths shut. Why can't you seem to do that?

JENNIFER: Jack listen, you're the one....

THIS TIME HE GRABS HER LIPS AND HOLDS THEM SHUT.
oldEp159B
JACK:
(With his fingers he opens and closes her mouth.) Shut, close, shut, shut, shut. Like this. Can you do that?

HE GRINS AND SHE STRUGGLES FREE.

JENNIFER: No! I can't do this anymore Jack. I can't go on anymore. It's gone on long enough. we have to tell Roman the truth. He has to know about Isabella.

JACK IS SURE THAT THIS IS WRONG AND LOOKS VERY WORRIED. JACK AND JENNIFER ARE STILL IN THE CABIN DISCUSSING WHETHER THEY SHOULD TELL ISABELLA ABOUT THE PAGES.

SCENE THREE: ERNESTO IS TALKING TO HANS ABOUT JACK AND JENNIFER. HE HAS DECIDED THAT JACK AND JENNIFER ARE TROUBLE. HANS ASKS IF ERNESTO IF HE WANTS THEM KILLED. ERNESTO TELLS HIM NOT NOW. HE WILL DEAL WITH THEM WHEN HE DEALS WITH THE REST OF HIS ENEMIES. HE TELLS HANS TO LOCK THEM IN THEIR ROOM INSTEAD.

SCENE FOUR: HANS LOCKS JACK AND JENNIFER IN THEIR ROOM.

SCENE FIVE: JACK AND JENNIFER ARE UNAWARE THAT THEY ARE LOCKED IN, THEY ARE STILL DISCUSSING WHAT TO DO ABOUT ISABELLA AND THE DIARY PAGES. JACK IS ALMOST OBSESSIVE ABOUT NOT TELLING HER. HIS REASONS SEEM PERSONAL.

JACK: Dammit Jennifer, I know that you think you understand but you don't. I know this is hard on you but I'm not going to let you blow this.

JENNIFER: Look Jack, Isabella deserves the truth.

JACK: (Frantic and pleading) No, she deserves her peace of mind. Her peace of mind. Look she doesn't have anybody. She's all alone. Her family is dead. All she's got is memories. That's her whole life now, her memories.

IT APPEARS THAT JACK IS TALKING FROM HIS OWN PERSONAL EXPERIENCES.

JACK (CONT.): That's the foundation that she's got to base the rest of her life on, to make it all make sense. You take that away from her, you tell her that she's not who she thinks she is and it's all going to fall apart. And the whole world, and the whole world, you try to put that back together and you can't. People....you don't how....you don't know who to talk to....you don't know who to....you can't!

JACK IS NOW KNEELING IN FRONT OF HER ALMOST PLEADING.

JENNIFER: Okay Jack, you're right. I don't understand or maybe at least not how it feels. But I do see why it's important to you. You're trying to protect her.

JACK: Yeah I am.

JENNIFER: But you're missing something Jack. You are missing something very important.

JENNIFER GETS OFF THE BED AND WALKS OVER NEAR THE DESK. SHE REALIZES THAT JACK IS TALKING ABOUT HIS OWN PAIN FROM FINDING OUT THE TRUTH ABOUT HARPER AND BEING A JOHNSON.

JENNIFER: Look I know it was hard for you and I know it hurt you a lot to find out the truth about your real family, but now that you're dealing with it and you're finally starting how to accept it, look how your life is changing Jack. It's getting better and better.

JACK: No, it's different, it's different.

JACK GETS UP AND SITS ON THE BED.

JACK: Don't you see. I....I wasn't alone. I mean I had yo....I had....people who....cared for me unconditionally.

JENNIFER: You mean like your family, Adrienne, your mother?

JACK SEEMS TO BE ABOUT TO ADMIT SOMETHING, TO OPEN UP. HE HAS A DIFFICULT TIME, BUT FINALLY DOES.
oldEp159C
JACK: I mean....yeah, I mean....I mean them. They made....they made a lot of a difference....but not as much difference as you made.

JENNIFER IS SHOCKED.

JENNIFER: What?

JACK: Jennifer....nobody has helped me see myself....deal with myself....or maybe even like myself....as much as you have.

JENNIFER: Jack I didn't even think....I didn't even think that you noticed that I was trying to help you.

JACK: Well sure I noticed. I mean....I mean I don't think we should have the same relationship but I always knew you were standing next to me in a similar situation. And I've come....I've come to think of you as a friend....a friend.

JACK HEAVILY EMPHASIZES THE WORD "FRIEND," IT IS OBVIOUS THAT SHE MEANS MORE TO HIM THAN THAT. HE STILL CANNOT GET THE WORDS OUT AND ADMIT HOW MUCH HE CARES FOR HER. JENNIFER IS OVERJOYED THAT JACK IS OPENING UP, BUT SHE CONTROLS HER EMOTIONS.

JENNIFER: Thanks. I'm really glad you feel that way and I would like to stay your friend, if you'll let me. All I want is to just keep on helping you. We can get through this together Jack, the same way we've got through a lot of other things.

JACK IS NERVOUS AND SCARED, HE REALIZES THAT JENNIFER IS ABOUT TO ADMIT HOW MUCH SHE CARES FOR HIM.

JACK: I'm not so sure of that, this time.

JENNIFER: Jack, I am. And we if do get past this and we put it behind us, who knows what can happen after that. You know maybe we can get on with our lives. Maybe we can stop running and hiding from the bad guys. Maybe we can stop running from each other. What do you think?

TRYING TO CHANGE THE SUBJECT.

JACK: I think....we should get ready for dinner.

JENNIFER: Yeah.

JACK: I think after dinner I'm going to talk to Isabella....

JACK STOPS TO THINK.

JACK: ....no we're going to talk to Isabella....if you will, with me.

JENNIFER: Jack.

JACK: I take that as an agreement.

JENNIFER NODS. SHE IS OVERJOYED.

JACK: (Getting up) Okay. I tell you what, I'm going to make tracks and give you the room to turn around in and get ready and I'll be back in a little bit. I'll just....

JACK TRIES TO OPEN THE DOOR.

JENNIFER: Jack.

SCENE SIX: JACK CONTINUES TO STRUGGLE WITH THE DOOR. HE IS BECOMING MORE AND MORE CONCERNED, BUT DOES NOT WANT TO WORRY JENNIFER.

JACK: I'm going. I'm going to be....I'll be out in just a....

JENNIFER: What, is there something wrong with the door?

JACK: Wrong? No, I wouldn't say anything's wrong.

JENNIFER: What would you say Jack?

JACK: What would I say? I would say that we're locked in!

JENNIFER: What?

JACK: We're locked in!

JENNIFER: Locked?

JACK: I mean locked. Latched, bolted, closed, locked!

JENNIFER: I know what locked means but it doesn't make sense.

JACK: I mean from the outside locked.

JACK IS WORRIED. JENNIFER REALIZES WHY THEY HAVE BEEN LOCKED IN THEIR CABIN.

JENNIFER: Who, on this ship, would want to lock us in here Jack? Why would anybody want to lock....the pages! Jack, somebody wants the pages.

JACK: We've got to move.

JENNIFER: How?

JACK IS FRANTIC, AND PANICKING.

JACK: Ah the hinges, the hinges!

JENNIFER: Take the pins out of the door Jack.

JACK: Ah....I'll just take the hinges out....it's welded but on a normal door....on a normal door....welded! Wait a minute, okay, we need an axe. That's it. Give me an axe. Look we need....

JENNIFER: Jack!

JACK: Just don't panic okay.

JENNIFER: Jack!

JACK: Just remember not to panic. Keep cool. HEEEELLLLLPPPPP! SOMEBODY OPEN THE DOOR. HELP!

JACK FLINGS HIS WHOLE BODY AGAINST THE DOOR AND BANGS IT WITH HIS FIST.

JENNIFER: Jack, it's no use.

JACK: JOIN IN THE CHORUS, COME ON! HEEEEELLLLPPPPP!

JENNIFER REALIZES THAT THEY ARE IN DESPERATE DANGER, THAT JACK'S FEARS WERE CORRECT.

JENNIFER: Jack it's no use, it's sound proof. Think about it. Have you been able to hear anybody else the whole time we've been on this boat? This whole place must be sound proof. Underneath that wood there's probably solid steel Jack.

JACK: Um....Jennifer.

JENNIFER: Don't even say it Jack. Don't even try. Alright we're finally being honest with each other. Let's not throw that away. We might as well face the truth about this too.

JACK: What truth?

JENNIFER: You were right all along. This is all my fault. I tricked you into coming with me, to watch out for me, to take care of me Jack.

JACK: Wait a minute, the truth....the truth is, this is a new boat and it's very humid and I'm sure that the wood is swelling in the door jams.

JENNIFER: You don't believe that.

JACK: No I don't.

JENNIFER: We're trapped, purposely.

JACK: By who?

JENNIFER: By whoever wants those pages, Jack. Everything that's been happening to all of us from the minute we started this cruise, it's all been planned from the very beginning Jack. Somebody's going to kill us.

JENNIFER RUNS UP AND WRAPS HER ARMS AROUND JACK.

JACK: Ah....come on, come on, you're getting all worked up here.

JENNIFER: Jack would you stop it, alright? Just admit it. After all this time they finally caught up with us. The brick through the window, the man who attacked me, they were all warnings. But I didn't listen. I mean and now Jack who knows what's going to happen. We'll probably both get kil....

JACK TRIES TO REASSURE JENNIFER (AND HIMSELF), BUT DOES NOT DO A GOOD JOB.

JACK: No, no, nothing's going to happen because we are going to find the alternative. You know that's your problem, you always think one and one equals two.

JENNIFER: One and one does always equal two Jack! That makes no sense.

JACK: No, no, no! Not if you change the rules and jiggle up the numbers and we're both smart enough to do that....eventually.

JENNIFER: It's being smart enough that got us here in the first place.

JACK: Now what we have to do is calm down and relax and try to get our perspective back. Once we get our perspective back it's going to be....we're going to find a solution. And it'll come to us like....ah....like ah....

JACK IS TRYING TO SNAP HIS FINGERS BUT CANNOT.

JACK: (Nervous laugh) Sweaty palms! It's hot in here.

JENNIFER: Jack, you....

JACK: (Thinking) You know we need to eat, we need to dine and we are going to miss dinner upstairs which means they are going to miss us. So they'll come looking for us. So in the meantime what we need to do is pass the time and get some perspective and you know there is no better way to get perspective than to have a good honest (Trying to come up with an idea) .....down to earth (He finally does) ....picnic. A picnic! Yes! I love picnics, I know you love picnics and there's nothing better than a....than a moonlight picnic.

JACK HELPS JENNIFER ONTO THE BED AND GRABS THE CANDLES THAT ARE STANDING ON THE DRAWERS.

JENNIFER: Moonlight Jack?

JACK: Moonlight, a moonlight picnic! Or, how about a candlelight picnic. We're just going kind of making this up as we go along.

JACK RUNS AROUND THE BED AND TRIPS ON SOMETHING UNDER THE BED.

JACK: And then of course we....oh my, what have we here?

HE PULLS OUT TWO ORANGE LIFE JACKETS.

JACK: It comes complete with two little lobster bibs. Yes. One for you

and one for me. Designer lobster bibs made by (He runs his fingers over the name, and says it with an affected flair as if talking about a designer gown.) "Loretta."

HE POINTS TO THE SHIP'S NAME STENCILED ON THE LIFE JACKETS. THEY BOTH PUT THEM ON.

JENNIFER: Great. All we need is lobster, right Jack.

JACK: Lobster! Well ah lookie here. Look what have we here. We

have....oh.....

HE NOTICES A LARGE BASKET OF FRUIT ON THE COUNTER. HE PICKS UP AND CARRIES IT OVER TO THE BED. IT IS COVERED IN CELLOPHANE WHICH HE RIPS OFF.

JACK: Oh my, she asked for lobster and she gets.... and voilà.... (Showing a banana he found within the basket.) not one, not one she asks, but (Picking out another banana.) two....succulent tails. One for her and one for him set in a lovely bed of seafood delight if we squint our eyes hard enough.

JACK PULLS TWO BANANAS OUT OF THE BASKET AND HANDS ONE TO JENNIFER.

JACK: And for dessert, for dessert. Oh where are those little mints those people left on the pillows this morning? Mint mint here, mint mint there, here a mint, there a mint, everywhere a mint mint, Old MintDonald....

JACK FRANTICALLY LOOKS AROUND THE ROOM.

JENNIFER: Jack!

JACK: Mint, mint.....oh right here, right here on the....

TO FIND THE MINTS HE DISRUPTS THE ROOM, AND THROWS BACK THE COVERS AND PILLOWS ON THEIR BED. JENNIFER REALIZES THAT JACK IS WORRIED, AND TRYING TO GET THEIR MINDS OFF THEIR TROUBLES.

JENNIFER: Jack stop it.

JACK: Huh?

JENNIFER: I know what you're trying to do.

JACK: You do?

JENNIFER: You're trying to take my mind off the door.

JACK: How am I doing?

JENNIFER: Do you really thing we're going to get out of this room, ever?

JACK: (Gentle and caring) Jennifer look, I told you that I was going keep an eye on you and pages or no pages, that's what I'm going to do. I'm going to take care of you. Promise!

JENNIFER: You promise.

JACK: Yeah. And now if you don't mind, your tail or mine?

JACK HOLDS UP THE TWO BANANAS. JENNIFER CANNOT HELP BUT SMILE.

SCENE SEVEN: A SHORT TIME LATER, JENNIFER IS STILL SITTING ON THE BED THINKING ABOUT THEIR PROBLEMS WHEN JACK SNEAKS UP BEHIND HER. HE HAS PEELED AND EATEN HALF A BANANA AND TURNED THE REST UPSIDE DOWN ON HIS HEAD LIKE A CROWN. HE HAS ALSO STUCK THE SKIN FROM A QUARTER OF AN ORANGE OVER HIS TEETH SO THAT HE HAS AN ORANGE SMILE.

oldEp159D

HE GRINS AT HER AND MAKES HER LAUGH.

JENNIFER: Jack stop, Jack!

SHE PULLS OFF HIS BANANA CROWN. JACK PRETENDS TO BE MAD ABOUT THIS.

JACK: Wait a minute, that's my crown.

JENNIFER: Your crown for what?

JACK: My crown! (Imitating the Cowardly Lion from The Wizard of Oz.) I'm King of The Spectator! King, award winning King of The Spectator. (Acting smug, pretending to give a speech.) Yes ladies and gentlemen, thank you for my second or third Pulitzer in a row for my series on the now famous legendary Toscano cruise.

JENNIFER: (Laughing and kidding Jack) Oh in your dreams Jack!

JACK: (To Jennifer) Hey, (Continuing his imaginary speech.) and I'd also like to say how proud I am of out scooping my....my competitor and ex-protegé Jennifer Horton better known as that bimpy blonde (laughing) What's-Her-Name who does the fluff pieces on WATB.

JENNIFER: (Pretending to be mad.) The fluff pieces, Jack! I will have you know that I....

JACK: (Interrupting) Hey, hey, hey, hey. Do your own acceptances speeches.

JENNIFER: Alright, Jack, I will. Thank you, thank you very much. Um, I would like to thank the Academy....

JACK: Oh you're not going to thank the Academy for anything.

JENNIFER: I'm going to thank the Academy when you win your Pulitzer Prize and we're both going to go out to dinner to celebrate.

JACK: No, no, correction. You're going to take me out to dinner because you owe me for everything that I've taught you about reporting.

JENNIFER IS SILENT.

JACK: Oh come on, I think it's fair deal, don't you?

JENNIFER: You realize that if we never get out of this room, I'll never be able to treat you to that dinner.

JACK: Well....um....on the bright side, at least I'll forgive you.

JACK SITS DOWN BESIDE THE BED AND JENNIFER LIES DOWN SO THAT THEIR FACES ARE CLOSE. JACK IS GETTING NERVOUS BECAUSE HE REALIZES THAT JENNIFER IS ABOUT TO REVEAL HER FEELINGS FOR HIM.

JENNIFER: But maybe I won't be able to forgive myself. Not if I wait for the dinner to tell you how I really feel and that dinner never happens.

JACK: Well I mean what if it does happen? What if it does happen and we say everything already and then we'll be sitting there staring at each other over the crudité with nothing left to say. I have to....

JACK TRIES TO STAND UP BUT JENNIFER DRAGS HIM BACK DOWN.

JENNIFER: Jack I'm not going to wait. And you're going to let me do this. It could be our last night together. And if it is and we really do never get out of this room, do you know what would be the saddest thing about it?

JACK: You mean other than just death in general?

JENNIFER: We'll have missed our chance forever and I'm not going to let that happen. I can't let that happen Jack.

JACK: I really have to go to the....

JENNIFER: NO JACK!

JACK IS BECOMING MORE AND MORE NERVOUS. JENNIFER IS MORE DETERMINED TO TELL JACK HOW MUCH SHE LOVES HIM.

JACK: Why are you doing this? I mean really, what are you really going to say? You're going to start just saying all the nitty gritty little things just because things are getting dicey. I think it's a defeatist act. I really do. Now what would your grandparents say. I think they would be really disappointed. It's a good thing that I stopped you when I did. What we have to do, we have to be strong, we have to be positive, we have to think, "Door, we're going to get out of you!" and we will. You just repeat after me, "we're going to get....we're going to get out of here and...."

JENNIFER INTERRUPTS AND STOPS JACK.

JENNIFER: Why are you so afraid?

JACK: Me? I'm the one who's not getting scared in here.

JENNIFER: Neither am I Jack. We've been brave, we are brave. We've been in danger the same way we are now and we've gotten through, okay.

JACK: Just like I said.

JENNIFER: This time there are no guarantees. Things are out of our control and I'm going to say what I have to say and you're going to listen to me.

JACK IS *TERRIFIED*.

JACK: There's nothing I can do to stop this, is there?

JENNIFER: No!

JACK: (Closing his eyes tightly) Ooookay, go ahead, I can take it.... (Opening one eye.) I think.

JENNIFER IS LYING FACE DOWN ON THE BED WITH HER HEAD CLOSE TO HIS AS HE SITS ON THE FLOOR.

JENNIFER: Alright, Jack....

JACK: Wait stop! I was wrong. I can't take it. I have to go to the....

ONCE AGAIN HE TRIES TO STAND UP BUT SHE PULLS HIM BACK DOWN.

JENNIFER: Stop Jack! I have to tell you how I feel.

JACK: I know how you feel.

JENNIFER: You couldn't. Not really, not all of it. I was too scared to let you know. I kept trying to cover it up and put it aside with pride or anger.

JACK: Well....you know pride's good. I mean anger is very good too. It really works.

JENNIFER: No, it's not for me. (Beat) Jack I was so wrong. I've been stupid. I even said that I would marry Emilio to get your attention to spite you. How could I do that, how could I have done that to him?

JACK: Oh come on, don't blame yourself. I bring out the worst in people, you know that.

JENNIFER: All I know is the way I feel. I was so frustrated, I was even willing to use Emilio and he deserves better, so much better. I just hope I get a chance to explain and to apologize. I'm tired of playing games with you and me. The truth is....is that I care about you more than anybody else in this world.
oldEp159E
THROUGHOUT JENNIFER'S TALK JACK HAS TEARS IN HIS EYES AND CANNOT LOOK AT HER. HE KEEPS HIS EYES LOWERED. HE IS OVERWHELMED AND OVERCOME WITH EMOTION THAT SOMEONE COULD LOVE HIM AS MUCH AS SHE DOES; ESPECIALLY AFTER HIS PAST. JENNIFER'S VOICE CRACKS FROM HER EMOTIONALISM, AND SHE IS IN TEARS.

JENNIFER: More than anybody than I have ever cared for in my life.

JACK: (Finally looking at her for an instant.) Wh...what about Frankie?

JACK IS MORE AND MORE MOVED, HE CONTINUES TO LOOK WAY NOT WANTING TO REVEAL HIS EMOTIONS. JENNIFER IS IN TEARS AS SHE FINALLY REVEALS HER HEART TO JACK.

JENNIFER: Even Frankie. He never pushed me away like you did, until he left. And that hurt a lot but what I felt for him, it faded away, slowly but surely. And Jack then you came into my life and you were different. And what I felt was different. And the more you pushed me away and the more that I stopped trying to care about you, the more I realized that it was just a waste of time. I couldn't stop no matter how hard you pushed and no matter how hard I tried. (Beat) I love you Jack. And you feel the same way about me. I know you do. I don't even have to ask anymore, I don't even have to wonder. You do Jack, you were just afraid. You were so afraid. You still are. Look at me. (Jack looks at her) This could be the end Jack for both of us. We don't know what's going to happen next. So if I'm right and I know I am, can you please tell me? Please can't you just admit it?

JACK: Jennifer....

JENNIFER: (Interrupting him) Look....

SHE LEANS OVER AND KISSES HIM GENTLY ON THE LIPS. JACKS EYES ARE CLOSED.
oldEp159F
JENNIFER: I understand. I won't force you.

SHE KISSES HIM AGAIN.

JENNIFER: If you can't say it....

SHE KISSES HIM ONCE AGAIN.

JENNIFER: ....then you just can't say it.

AND ONCE AGAIN SHE KISSES HIM GENTLY.

JACK: Jennifer.....

JENNIFER: Sssshh!

SHE PUTS HER FINGER GENTLY ON HIS LIPS.

JENNIFER: If you can't say it, could you at least show me? At least show me Jack.

JACK LOOKS IN HER EYES FOR A FEW SECONDS THEN LEANS TOWARDS HER AND KISSES HER TENDERLY.

JACK: Jennifer.

JENNIFER: It's our last chance Jack. Our last chance.

JACK CAN NO LONGER DENY HIS FEELINGS. SHE CONTINUES TO BREAK DOWN HIS BARRIERS.

JACK: Last....

JENNIFER: Jack.

HE BEGINS TO KISS HER AGAIN AND THEN PULLS BACK.

JACK: Hold it!

JENNIFER: What? What's wrong?

JACK THINKS FOR A MINUTE THEN SMILES.

JACK: Nothing!

SHE LEANS BACK ON THE BED AND JACK THROWS HIMSELF ON IT AND TAKES HER IN HIS ARMS. HE BEGINS TO KISS HER PASSIONATELY.
