[Air date November 2nd, 1990]

SCENE ONE: IT IS KATERINA AND LAWRENCE'S WEDDING DAY AND KATERINA'S TWENTY-FIFTH BIRTHDAY. JENNIFER IS IN THE WEDDING DRESS BUT SHE HAS NOT PUT HER VEIL ON YET. SHE TELLS THE MAID THAT SHE NEEDS TO TALK TO LAWRENCE IMMEDIATELY. THERE IS A KNOCK AT THE DOOR.

JENNIFER: Come in Lawrence.

JACK WALKS IN THE DOOR IN A DRESS SUIT AND STRIPED SHIRT AND TIE. THEY BOTH ARE EXCITED TO SEE EACH OTHER, BUT APPREHENSIVE, WORRYING ABOUT TELLING LAWRENCE.

JENNIFER: Jack!

JACK: Ah Jennifer.... ah....

JENNIFER: You shouldn't be here right before the wedding.

JACK: I agree.... ah....

SUDDENLY LEOPOLD APPEARS AT THE DOOR IN WHITE TIE AND TAILS.

JENNIFER: Ah hello Poldy.

POLDY: I thought your name was Jasper.

JACK: Sir it is.

POLDY: Well then why did Katerina call you Jack?

JENNIFER: Jasp! I called him Jasp. That's what I call him for short. Jasp, what are you doing here?

POLDY: I'm afraid I arranged that. It seems your friend has a little wedding gift that he wanted to give to you.

JACK: Ah yes.... yes.... in fact I do.

POLDY: Yes I didn't see any harm in it. Where is the gift by the way?

JACK: Ah.... the gift.... it's.... it's right...it's right here. Right here in my pocket. You know this about good things coming in small packages.

JENNIFER: You know Poldy, I heard that Lawrence is very nervous this morning. It's probably just pre-wedding jitters but he can probably really use you right now. You know I don't want him to get cold feet right at the last minute

POLDY: Oh we can't have that.

JENNIFER: No we can't.

POLDY: No I'd best go check and see on him.

JENNIFER: Thank you.

POLDY: But um....

JENNIFER: Oh Poldy, Jasp and I are just friends remember. Now I mean the wedding is about to take place in a little while. I mean what can go wrong now?

POLDY: Of course.

JENNIFER: Yes.

POLDY LEAVES AND JENNIFER SHUTS THE DOOR.

JENNIFER: Right. What?

JACK IS SITTING ON THE END OF HER BED STARING AT HER IN THE BEAUTIFUL WEDDING DRESS MADE OF TAFFETA AND LACE. IT HAS A VERY TIGHT FITTING BODICE WITH A LACE COLLAR AND FULL SLEEVES. THE SKIRT IS WIDE WITH A LACE UNDERSKIRT.

JACK:
In the words of your old chum Jasper, you've never looked lovelier.

JENNIFER LOOKS SAD THAT SHE IS NOT DRESSED FOR HIM.

JENNIFER: Jack stop it. I don't look lovely. I don't even want to be in this dress.

JACK: Then what the hell are you doing in this dress? I thought you were supposed to explain to Lawrence who you were before the wedding so what....

JENNIFER: I realize that. I didn't get a chance. There's been these people in here dressing me and fussing all over me. I just sent someone to get Lawrence.

JACK: Then he's on his way.

JENNIFER: Yes, he'll be here any minute.

JACK: Oh, who even cares. Let's get out of here. Come on, it doesn't even matter anymore. Let's....

JENNIFER: Let go Jack, I can't leave until this whole thing is clear.

JACK: What.... what difference does is make anymore? LET'S JUST GO!

JENNIFER: Because if he still thinks I'm Katerina, he's going to come looking for me.

JACK: So what?

JENNIFER: I want this whole thing over with so we can go home as Jack and Jennifer and start all over again.

JACK: Just send the guy a Candy Gram alright.

JENNIFER: No Jack, when we get back to Salem together I don't want anything getting in the way.

JACK: What, Jennifer?

JENNIFER: I don't want anything getting in the way of my real wedding.

JACK STOPS DEAD STILL AS HE HEARS THIS.

JENNIFER: When I really marry the man I love.

SCENE TWO: MEANWHILE, LAWRENCE IS PACING THE MANSION THINKING OF THE WOMAN HE REALLY WANTS TO MARRY, KATERINA OR CARLY.

SCENE THREE: DOWNSTAIRS, THE PRISONER HE IS BEEN HOLDING IS BANGING THE DOOR AND WANTING TO SEE LAWRENCE.

SCENE FOUR: BACK IN HER BEDROOM, JACK IS STILL SHOCKED.

JACK: Jennifer, Jennifer, Jennifer.

JENNIFER: Scared you, didn't I? Marriage still does that to you doesn't it?

JACK: Heheheheh. Why should it do that, I've already struck out twice heading down the altar.

JENNIFER: The third time's a charm then.

JACK: No, no, no, third time you strike out.

JENNIFER: Come on Jack, you have to admit, I mean you have thought about it haven't you? What it would be like, the two of us dressed up like this, finally saying I do.

JACK: Je.... Jennifer.

JENNIFER: Jack you have.

JACK HALF SMILES AT HER.

JACK: Jennifer, you know this is not the time to sit around talking about what you.... what your wedding night is going to be like.

JENNIFER: I already know what our wedding night's going to be like.

SHE TAKES BOTH HIS HANDS IN HERS AS THEY STAND BEFORE FOUR LIGHTED CANDLES.

JACK: Ah.... no....

JENNIFER: And I know what our wedding vows will be like too.

JACK: Ah....

JENNIFER: I, Jennifer take you Jack, for better and mostly worse, in spite of your egotism, pig-headedness and inability to express any kind meaningful emotion, to be my lawfully wedded equal partner, who will love, honor and obey me until death do us part.

JACK: And....

JENNIFER: And you Jack, take me Jennifer....

JACK:
In spite of your idealistic naivetÃ, your stubborness, your.... pesky little ability to get under my skin no matter what the cost, your ability.... to be my other, if not necessarily better, half, I would like to take you and....
JENNIFER: And then.... the minister will say I now pronounce you husband and wife.

JACK: What and I suppose the groom's supposed to kiss the bride.

JENNIFER: Yes.

JACK: Just don't crush the grin.

JACK LEANS DOWN AND KISSES HER PASSIONATELY.

SCENE FIVE: THEY ARE STILL KISSING INSIDE AS LAWRENCE APPROACHES THE ROOM. HOWEVER GREGORY CALLS TO HIM WITH AN URGENT PROBLEM.

SCENE SIX: IN SALEM, NICK CORELLI HAS BEEN KILLED AND IT SEEMS THAT BO IS RESPONSIBLE. HIS CHAIN WAS FOUND AT THE MURDER SITE AND EVERYBODY IS LOOKING FOR HIM. HOWEVER, A NUMBER OF PEOPLE HAD REASON TO KILL NICK. IT IS SUSPECTED THAT HE HAD SOMETHING TO DO WITH THE EXPLOSION, RESULTING IN STEVE'S DEATH -- WHICH HE DID.

SCENE SEVEN: MEANWHILE, BO HAS JOINED CARLY ON A TRIP TO SEE LAWRENCE BECAUSE CARLY THINKS HE KNOWS WHAT HAPPENED TO HER BROTHER. SHE DOES NOT TELL BO THIS, HE THINKS IT IS TO SEE LAWRENCE ABOUT STEVE'S MURDER, AND ALSO THAT HE IS BEHIND JENCON, THE COMPANY THAT IS INVOLVED IN VARIOUS SITUATIONS IN SALEM.

SCENE EIGHT: IN HER BEDROOM JACK AND JENNIFER ARE STILL KISSING. JENNIFER STOPS JACK, REALIZING THE CONSEQUENCES OF LAWRENCE DISCOVERING THEM TOGETHER.

JENNIFER: Jack, Jack, wait a minute, Lawrence could come in here at any minute okay.

JACK: Of course he going to come in here. Of course he's going to come in here and we'll both talk to him and everything will be alright and we'll just leave.

JENNIFER: No Jack, you better go really.

JACK: I think it's alright if I stand here and you talk to him.

JENNIFER: No, no, alright. Look I have to do this myself alright. He already knew about the two of us at the embassy. It would make it even worse if he knew we were going behind his back this whole time.

JACK: You're going to blow it, you know that. You're going to screw the whole thing up.

JENNIFER: No I'm not. Nothing's going to go wrong Jack.

JACK: Right, nothing's going to go wrong because I have a contingency plan.

JENNIFER: You have what?

JACK: I have a contingency plan.

JENNIFER: What is that?

JACK: I have a scaled down view. This is the blueprints of this whole building alright.

JACK PLACES THE PLAN ON A TABLE BUT JENNIFER PICKS IT UP TO SEE IT BETTER.

JACK: Would you.... just look right here. Look right here, let me explain this to you. We need to find a way out of here quickly, an escape route, alright. There are tunnels that go under this whole place. Are you surprised? Now the important thing is, these tunnels all lead to one room. That room is right here.

JENNIFER: You know that's Lawrence's room.

JACK: How did you know that's Lawrence's room?

JENNIFER: Well if you're wondering if I've been in it, I haven't. I've just wandered by it enough times to know Jack.

JACK: Alright! Okay! Anyway, if you're in trouble, we're going to meet in Lawrence's room. We're going to get in there and we're going to escape through one of those tunnels.

JENNIFER: Wait a minute, how are you going to get into his room Jack?

JACK: What are you talking about? You're talking to the man who broke into the embassy.

JENNIFER: You're also the man who got thrown out of the embassy Jack.

JACK: Alright, thank you very much. Thank you for your vote of confidence. I'm going to go out there right now. I'm going to scope the entire villa, alright.

JENNIFER: Alright. Wait.... be careful.

JACK: You be careful, alright.

HE KISSES HER AGAIN.

JENNIFER: You better go before Lawrence gets here.

JACK: I knew that.

JACK HEADS FOR THE DOOR AND JUST AS HE OPENS IT, LEOPOLD WAS THERE. JACK COVERS HIS MOUTH IN CASE HE STILL HAD LIPSTICK ON IT.

JACK: Oh.... ah!

POLDY: I can't find Lawrence anywhere. The wedding's about to begin. Shoo, shoo, now we must let Katerina finish getting ready for the wedding.

JACK: Ah certainly sir. I'll see you later.

JENNIFER: Yes. Soon.

JENNIFER SHUTS THE DOOR AND JACK IS OUTSIDE WITH POLDY.

POLDY: Did you get everything done that you wanted to?

JACK: (To himself) Ah sir, I.... I.... I certainly hope so.

JENNIFER SUDDENLY FEELS VERY ALONE BUT SHE GOES TO LAWRENCE'S ROOM TO TALK TO HIM.

SCENE NINE: JENNIFER HAS GONE TO LAWRENCE'S BEDROOM TO TELL HIM THE TRUTH.

LAWRENCE: Katerina, you know it is very bad luck for the groom to see his bride on the day of the wedding. I do hope this is important. I wouldn't want anything to interfere with our wedding.

JENNIFER: Well that's just it. This is about the wedding.

LAWRENCE: Oh go on.

JENNIFER: Well there is something that I've been wanting to tell you but it's seems to be getting more complicated so I just decided to just come right out and say it.

LAWRENCE: If you and I are going to be man and wife it's always best to be honest. Don't you think Katerina?

JENNIFER: I'm not Katerina. I know that may come as a shock to you. I never meant to hurt anybody but you have to believe me that I had my reasons for doing all of this. So if you'll just understand me and forgive me, we can put all of this behind us and let bygones be bygones. And who knows, someday we might even laugh about the whole thing. So I'll just get out of this dress and I'll be on my way.

LAWRENCE: Not so fast!

JENNIFER: I'd rather not be in this dress as there's not going to be a wedding.

LAWRENCE: But that's where you're wrong. There's definitely going to be a wedding today.

JENNIFER: No, I already told you I'm not Katerina.

LAWRENCE: I know that.

JENNIFER: Then I don't understand.

LAWRENCE: Well then let me explain it to you.... Jennifer!

JENNIFER IS SHOCKED.

JENNIFER: You know my name.

LAWRENCE: Yes. It's Jennifer. Jennifer Rose Horton.

JENNIFER: If you already know my name, then you couldn't possibly want to marry me.

LAWRENCE: Oh but I do.

JENNIFER: But you're supposed to marry Katerina.

LAWRENCE: And you are Katerina.

JENNIFER: This is all a joke, right.

LAWRENCE: This is no joke. I've never been more serious about anything in my life.

JENNIFER: Wait a minute, if you're embarrassed about being stood up at the altar, that's okay because you can tell everyone that it was a big mix-up and you just found out.

LAWRENCE: But I haven't just found out. I knew you were an impostor from the first time we met.

JENNIFER: The very first time.

LAWRENCE: When you were Katerina's schoolmate and you impersonated her at that dinner I arranged. What kind of fool do you think I am that I would fall for that little charade of yours.

JENNIFER: I never thought you were a fool.

LAWRENCE: I know everything about you Jennifer. That you're from Salem, that Cecily Smythe is your grandmother Alice Horton, that Jack Deveraux is your lover.

JENNIFER: Wait a minute, he's not my lover.

LAWRENCE: Oh is that why he came to see you at the embassy posing as that guard. You see there is nothing I don't know about you.

JENNIFER: Look if this has anything to do with that pact with Katerina....

LAWRENCE: It has everything to do with that.

JENNIFER: But I'm not Katerina. Don't you see, someone will find out and the whole deal will be off. Lawrence you will lose the entire fortune.

LAWRENCE: Who will find out? Warner Bayer? He already knows. He's already received a handsome finder's fee for sending you to me. And I doubt very much that the real Katerina cares. She's been hiding from me for years.

JENNIFER: You won't get away with this.

LAWRENCE: I already have.

JENNIFER: No, because I won't go through with this.

LAWRENCE: But you must.

JENNIFER: I'll tell the truth. I can prove to anybody that I'm not Katerina.

LAWRENCE: You'll do no such thing.

LAWRENCE GOES ON TO TELL HER THAT SHE HAS NO CHOICE BECAUSE HE HAS MANY DOCUMENTS THAT PROVE SHE IS THE REAL KATERINA.

JENNIFER: I won't go along with it. You can do whatever you like to me but I won't go along with it Lawrence.

LAWRENCE: Perhaps I better show you something else to convince you.

HE TIES A WHITE TAFFETA BLINDFOLD AROUND HER EYES AND THEN TAKES HER TO THE CORNER OF HIS BEDROOM. THERE HE HELPS HER ONTO A SMALL ELEVATOR HIDDEN BEHIND THE WALL.

SCENE TEN: DOWN IN THE MAIN BALLROOM, JACK IS FIDGETY WAITING FOR JENNIFER TO APPEAR. HE IS TOUCHING A BRONZE CARVING AND NEARLY KNOCKS IT OVER.

POLDY: Mr. Jasper.

JACK: AHHH.... OHHHH.... Mr. Alamain

POLDY: You're acting as nervous as if you were the bridegroom with your behavior.

JACK: Sir I'm just so excited about weddings I can barely control myself.

POLDY: Yeah well somehow I think it's something more than that.

JACK: What tells you that, a little birdie?

POLDY: Well you've been acting like you are a bundle of nerves ever since you said farewell to Katerina. Something tells me that you're a little worried about her, isn't that so?

JACK: Ah. why would I be worried about Katerina? Is there any reason I should be?

POLDY: Well this isn't one of your normal usual marriage arrangements is it? Yes but I can assure you that these marriages can work out.

POLDY WALKS AWAY.

JACK: (To himself) Not if I have anything to do with it.

SCENE ELEVEN: DOWNSTAIRS, JENNIFER AND LAWRENCE HAVE GOT OFF THE ELEVATOR AND HE HAS REMOVED HER BLINDFOLD. HE TAKES HER OVER TO SEE HIS "GUEST" AND SHE LOOKS THROUGH THE PEEPHOLE IN THE DOOR. IT IS FRANKIE, HER OLD BOYFRIEND OF A FEW YEARS AGO.

JENNIFER: Frankie!
