Background:
Everyone is upset over Gabrielle's murder. Bo is taking it hard.
It is discovered that a nurse who works on Troy's floor has
been found murdered. John McBain has a nagging feeling that
something is not right and that he is missing some thing.
Troy goes to his old flame Lindsay Rappaport's art gallery.
She is shocked to see him. He is desperate and as with Nora
tries to convince her he is innocent and is being frame, and
that he needs her help. She pulls out a gun on him and reminds
him of his past actions. Troy takes the gun away from her, and
continues to try and convince her to help him. His frantic behavior
makes her doubt him. Just then Natalie and Jessica come by,
and he takes them hostage as well. Jessica manages to slip a
note out the door of the gallery. Antonio comes by, and at first
he apparently does not see the note. He talks to Lindsay who
tells him that Jessica and Natalie not there. Suspicious he
pretends to leave but calls McBain. Later they arrive and with
the S.W.A.T. Troy is captured. He is very vocal about being
innocent, saying that he is being framed.
Todd has taken Starr to a hotel. He continues to try and get
in touch with Blair who finally goes to Nora and the police
and wants him charged with rape. It is uncertain who is telling
the truth.

Scene
One: Rae is talking to John McBain about Troy.
RAE:
I.... I put a call into Stephen Haver I.... (not sure if she
did the right thing) he's on his way over, I hope that's alright?
JOHN: Whatever you think's best.
RAE: Well, he seems to feel that he's got a
rapport with him.... Yo.... I... I... think it could help, I
do.
On
cue Haver shows up. Was he secretly listening in on their
conversation?
STEPHEN:
I hope so.
REA: Oh, Stephen, hi.
STEPHEN: (Goes over and shakes John's hand)
Agent McBain how are you?
JOHN: Fine. Thank you for coming Doctor Haver--
(he is interrupted by phone).
STEPHEN: Emm hmm.
JOHN: (Talking on the phone) Y'ah, bring him
in (and hangs up).
RAE: John was saying he thinks Troy is still pretty
agitated.
STEPHEN: Violent?
JOHN: No, he's just.... being loud about being
innocent, being framed, all those kinds of things. I was thinking
you two could talk to him, our-uh traditional methods are getting
us no where.
STEPHEN:That sounds like a good idea. Do you
have any place a little more neutral than the station?
JOHN: Can't do it, I can set you up in the
Commissioner's office, that's the best I can do on this notice.
STEPHEN: (Rae agreeing with him) Well, that
should be alright.
Just then two S.W.A.T. agents are leading Troy into the room.
He is ranting and raving. Haver looks over towards him.
TROY:
Well look, everybody's here, huh? Well, you all are wasting
your time BECAUSE I TOLD YOU I DIDN'T DO IT!
I DIDN'T DO IT!
Haver,
Rae look at him, are they surprised by his ranting?? John
obviously does not buy what he is saying.
TROY:
YOU CAME HERE TO QUESTION THE BAD GUY, BUT I AM NOT THE BAD
GUY. (Calming down a little, almost rational) I told you I didn't
do it I'm being (shouting again) FRAMED
HERE (The S.WA.T. agent is trying hold on to him) YOU NEED TO
GO OUT AND LOOK FOR THE GUY WHO DID DO IT.
Scene Two: Haver and Rae are inside Bo's office questioning
Troy. Haver is sitting on the desk, and Rae is in the back.
Troy, still handcuffed, is pacing around the room. A cop is
watching through the window, making sure nothing goes wrong.
TROY: (Acting strangely calm; walking towards Haver)
I remember you.
STEPHEN: (Calmly, hypnotic, observing him)
Good....That's good. You
remember my name?
TROY: (Trying to think, shakes his head) Noooo,
I don't, I'm sorry.... things have been a little crazy lately.
STEPHEN: We met out at Statesville when I was
interviewing you for my book.
Troy
walks around confused.
STEPHEN:
No (chuckles) I believe we met in the visitation room, you remember?
TROY: (Walking over towards Rae, appears to
be desperate) You've got to get me out of here, Rae!
(Getting more desperate) I need some help.
Haver
gets up, and motions to the cop to stay put.
STEPHEN:
No, that's alright. Troy?
TROY: Rae, please?
RAE: You are entitled to a lawyer, you understand
that don't you.
TROY: (Talking simultaneously) No Rae.... no.....
no (becoming more agitated) NO I DON'T NEED A LAWYER, RAE (slamming
something down on the desk, Rae steps back) BECAUSE I
AM NOT GUILTY!!
Meanwhile
Haver is in back of him, stretching out his hands trying to
calm him.
STEPHEN:
(Speaking
in a calm, soothing, almost hypnotic voice) Troy it's alright....
it's alright.
TROY: (No longer shouting, though still desperate,
panting) You gotta.... you gotta listen....
RAE: (Trying to calm him) Troy, why don't we
sit down. Come on, let's sit down, we can talk.
STEPHEN: (Leading him) Troy....
RAE: Come on, please.
STEPHEN: Here, go ahead.
Haver
has pulled out a chair for him and sits him down. They all
talk at simultaneously.
RAE: Come on....
TROY: You're not listening....
STEPHEN: We'll listen.
RAE: Okay sit down....
STEPHEN: We'll listen, okay....
RAE: Alright now.... can you tell us.... about
the passes that you got from Statesville, how did you get them?
TROY: I.... I was better.... I was doing better....
Rae!
RAE: Do you know that the six passes you got....
coincide with the six murders?
TROY: That's what I am saying that's exactly
how I know that I am being framed, Rae! The timing is way too
perfect. (Looking towards Haver, whose expression is difficult
to interrupt) What other explanation is there?
STEPHEN: (Calm and speaking softly) That's
what we're trying to understand, we're hoping you can help us.
Troy
looks confused, and does not seem to know how to respond.
Scene Three: John McBain watches the interrogation from out
side. Haver listens intently as Troy talks to Rae.
TROY:
It was Colin.... It was Colin.... Colin.... Colin's the bad
one he.... he's the one that would hurt people not me. (Shaking
his head) No Rae, I was the good twin. It was
Colin. He would hurt people. I just looked like Colin. I....
I just looked like Colin.
RAE: You killed Claire Baxter.... even if you
were delusional. You almost killed Nora Buchanan--
TROY: (Confused) No!
RAE: .... and Gabrielle Medina you left in
the morgue to die--
TROY: (Becoming more emotional) No.... no....
no.... NO RAE, I was the one that told (motioning
with his hands) Nora about Gabrielle.... (Calming down) I was
sick, Rae. I wasn't myself.
STEPHEN: When you say "sick" do you
mean the way your brother Colin was sick?
TROY: (Thinking) I don't know. Uhhh.... Look
I guess that I was Colin for awhile.
Haver
walks over towards him, and he gives Rae a knowing look.
TROY:
(Cont.) But then I was getting better. You can ask the nurses.
(Looking towards Haver) Ask Nurse Craig she gave me the passes
because I was doing better.
Haver knees
in front of Troy
STEPHEN:
The psychiatric nurse at Statesville?
TROY: Yes, Nur.... (Realizing something) Nurse....
Nurse Craig. (It dawns on him) She's dead.
STEPHEN:
She was murdered.
TROY: Oh, I didn't do it. I didn't do it. I
didn't do it. I didn't do it, (looking towards Rae) Rae. I didn't.
STEPHEN: Not saying you did. I.... I.... Look
I'm confused why did she give you the passes?
TROY: Why is that so confusing , IT'S BECAUSE
I AM BETTER NOW!
STEPHEN:
Okay, alright, I believe you, but try to be more specific, did
she tell you anything?
TROY: (Tries to think, and becomes more frustrated
when he cannot remember) I don't remember. I don't remember
her telling me anything. I just remember being happy to be out.
(Now looking towards Rae) I really thought I was doing better
Rae.
RAE: And you felt that you earned those passes,
right?
TROY: Yessss.
RAE: And that you certainly weren't a threat
to anyone....
TROY: No.
RAE: And you were given the passes because
you were doing better....
TROY: Yes.
RAE: Because you were doing better....
TROY: Exactly!
RAE: Not because you were frame.
TROY: No Rae, no it was both, it because I
was framed and because I was doing better.
STEPHEN: (Listening to him) Alright, here's
something else, can you tell us what you (Walks over to desk
and sits down) did when they gave you the passes and you got
out of Statesville.
TROY: Of course.... I don't know.... I....
I just remember being happy to just.... (muttering) to be free....
RAE: What did you do exactly....
TROY: (Muttering as she asks him the question)
No one watching me.
RAE: Can you remember anything.... exactly....
TROY: I use to go to this one bar....
RAE: Uh huh....
TROY: I liked it there because.... I could
think there, no one would bother me there because it was out
of the way. I saw Gabrielle there a few times.
Rae
look over toward Haver, he looks at her
RAE:
When you were out on your passes....
TROY: Yeah?
RAE: Was there ever a time that you remember
exactly what you were doing for the whole
time?
TROY: Uh.... yeah.... (confused) I don't know....
I don't.... I just remember I..... I would wandering around
and I would lose track of time?
STEPHEN: (Looking towards Rae) Well.... we....
What exactly do you mean by that? Tell me, did you ever find
yourself someplace you did not remember getting to?
TROY: (Nodding) Couples of times, yeah. Yeah.
But that 's.... that's because I was I.... I was thinking, right.
(Uncertain) I would just walk and think, that's why.
STEPHEN: Is it possible that you just blackout?
RAE: You said before, Troy, that... you were
your brother for a while. Now is it possible, just possible
that that could have happened again, and you weren't conscious
of it, Colin took over and you just didn't know?
They
seem to be confusing Troy even more. Looking over at Haver.
TROY:
Is that what your saying?
STEPHEN: Is it possible?

Scene
Four: Bo and John get more information from forensics. It
appears that a number was carved on Gabrielle's body, the
number "4."
Scene Five: It is the the next day, Steven and Rae are again
interrogating Troy.
STEPHEN:
We're talking about the number "4" but obviously Gabrielle
wasn't the fourth victim.
STEPHEN:
So,
what I'm thinking--
TROY: I DIDN'T kill Gabrielle.
STEPHEN: I didn't say that
you--
Troy
hears the door close and looks over towards John.
TROY:
Would you two give us a minute please?
Noticing
that something is up the agree.
RAE: Yes, of course.
STEPHEN: Certainly.
JOHN: Thank you.
They
walk out, and Haver looks back and watches Troy.
Scene Five: John interrogates Troy and loses his cool somewhat,
but Troy still is confused and babbles on about being frame.
Scene Six: Haver and Rae are talking outside Bo's office,
John emerges from Bo's office, having spoken with Troy. John
suggests they try again.
JOHN:
I wonder if you could stay on him, I think he is ripe.
RAE: (Nodding) Okay.
STEPHEN: Certainly.
They
go inside as he watches.
Scene Seven: New forensic evidence arrives, other victims
also have numbers. It appears that not only is the killer
marking each victim by the number of heart shaped tears to
indicate what number victim she is, but he is also carving
a number on their bodies, counting down from "10."
Scene Eight: Inside Bo's office Haver and Rae are continuing
their interrogation. John busts in.
RAE:
Troy can you try to remember--
JOHN: (In Troy's face) You didn't get to finish
what you started.
Both
Rae and Haver get up.
RAE:
John!
JOHN:
Look at me! (Holding out three fingers) You were
going to kill three women. LOOK AT ME! You
were going to kill three more women WEREN'T YOU! We found
the numbers you carved into their skin.
Haver
tries to say something.
JOHN:
We found the numbers you carved--
STEPHEN: (Interrupting) Agent....
JOHN: (Throwing his had back stopping him from
talking) SHUT UP!!!
STPEHN: (Trying to calm him down) Agent ....
JOHN: WE FOUND THE NUMBER YOU CARVED INTO THEIR
FLESH. IT WAS A COUNT DOWN.
STEPHEN: (Still trying to calm him down with
no success) Agent McBain.
JOHN: SO TELL ME.... TELL ME WHAT
I WANT TO HEAR.
TROY: You're right (looking at McBain) You must be
right I did it. I killed Gabrielle. I killed all those women.
I killed them all
Rae sighs.
Haver looks upset. As John seems pleased he got his confession.
